During this time of year when those around us speak of Thanksgiving many of us tend to turn our eye to the holiday itself and what it brings!! For the women of the house it means lots of extra work and cooking in  their already hectic lives. For the men it may mean football and eating a good home cooked meal.  It means different things to different people. For some it means a time of sadness and shame at the fact that they cannot feed their families. We know from the experience of having the  food pantry at NewStart Church that all is not as it appears to be for many people. There are many hungry and many thirsty this time of year and I dare to say all year long but  even more during the holidays when  it brings to mind that being thankful is hard. But I have some encouraging words to all that read this: Thanksgiving is more than just a turkey!! Being thankful is a way of life. It is a daily attitude and mindset. Thanksgiving comes from an inner place and not from our outside situations. Although we can be greatly affected by what is going on around us you will find that being thankful for the small blessings will help you see the big ones that are in your future.  Our Heavenly Father has provided a banquet table of good things to eat in the spirit realm. He continues to provide inner peace in a troubled time and restores all that is broken and scarred. I will encourage all that read this to make every day you breath a day of thanksgiving. No blessing is to small to give thanks for and as we thank God for the little things we will start to receive an attitude that all is well!! As our pastor taught us this Sunday, It is time for a miracle and it is never too late!!  New Start Church wants to extend the warmest Thanksgiving welcome to you and your family !!!
